About
Artist and curator Paula Ogun Hector leads a beginner-friendly textile workshop using 198’s archive to explore Brixton community activism and histories of Black British resistance through embroidery, appliqué and mixed-media making.
Participants respond to archival materials through embroidery, appliqué, collage and textile-making. The workshop forms part of research and community engagement around Uprisings: From Haiti to Brixton, a tapestry in development within Paula Ogun Hector’s Tapestry of Black Britons project. No previous textile experience is required.
