About
A guided walking tour of Islington exploring the pubs and haunts where Lenin and other radicals plotted the Russian Revolution, led by Ed Glinert.
London Historians hosts a walking tour led by Ed Glinert, author of Penguin's London Compendium and guide with New London Walks, tracing how the Russian Revolution was hatched in the lodging houses and pubs of Edwardian Islington. The walk begins outside Angel tube and includes a 15-minute pub stop, lasting about two hours. Stories cover radicals, reformers, rebels and reactionaries, from Lenin's arrival in April 1902 back to Thomas Paine writing The Rights of Man in an Angel hostelry.
