About
A newly commissioned solo exhibition by Raisa Kabir exploring the intertwined textile legacies of Scotland and South Asia.
The immersive, site-specific installation features multiple textile and sculptural works that explore the cultural politics of cloth and colonial geographies. Kabir investigates how Eastern, Central, and South Asian textile technologies influenced Western weaving knowledge and industrial production. The exhibition reflects on Glasgow’s history as a colonial merchant city and the global mobility of textile production.
