Adi Toch: By Association

A free display of Adi Toch's new sculpture installation 'By Association', created in response to Reading Museum's Roman collection.

Adi Toch's new installation 'By Association', commissioned by The Contemporary Art Society and Reading Foundation for Art, goes on display for the first time at Reading Museum. The work was developed in response to the museum's Roman collection, using pewter, tin smelted from cassiterite and mineral fragments from Cornish tin mines. The project explores the geological relationship between stone and metal and how materials carry memory and meaning. Toch is a contemporary artist and metalsmith who teaches at the Royal College of Art.
