Women’s Winter Climbing Festival

A weekend festival at Cairngorm Lodge Youth Hostel celebrating and connecting women who winter climb, with skills workshops, master classes and an inspirational lecture.

Organised by volunteers from the Women's Winter Climbing Network and supported by the BMC and Mountaineering Scotland, this weekend brings together women who winter climb for two days of skills training and workshops covering route selection, avalanche awareness, winter safety, expedition planning, ski mountaineering, nutrition and yoga for climbers. Optional master classes in dry tooling and winter climbing skills are available at extra cost. The programme also includes welcome drinks, a Saturday evening meal, an inspirational lecture and two nights' accommodation for residential ticket holders. Participants must be women and members of the BMC, Mountaineering Scotland or an affiliated club.
