Tony Roper’s The Steamie

Tony Roper's classic comedy play, The Steamie, is on its official 2026 tour.

The play is set in a 1950s washhouse on Hogmanay, following Magrit, Dolly, Doreen, and Mrs Culfeathers as they share laughter, secrets, and dreams during the final wash of the year. Written and directed by Tony Roper with songs by David Anderson, this Scottish classic first appeared in 1987 and earned a Scottish BAFTA for its Channel 4 adaptation. The production is presented by Rerr Terr Productions in association with Neil Laidlaw Productions, Selladoor Worldwide, and Dundee Rep Theatre.
