About

A Watercress Line steam train becomes a moving light-and-sound display, with onboard festive entertainment.

The Watercress Line’s Steam Illuminations runs from 27 November 2026 to 2 January 2027, with departures from Alresford and Alton. Christmas Vibes is listed through 28 December; Party Anthems runs 29 December–2 January. A synchronised light-and-sound display fills the carriages as the onboard host credited as “Voiceover Man” leads interactive entertainment. The operator describes the journey as approximately 1 hour 45 minutes and advises allowing two hours. The booking schedule lists departure times by date and station; some specific departures are marked sold out.
