About
Charles Dickens faces a career setback in 1843 as memories and a new character shape a Christmas story.
While struggling to find inspiration, the successful writer revisits difficult childhood experiences. The figure of a lonely, embittered man takes shape and becomes the centre of a story that changes how Christmas is understood.
