Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

OXOPS presents an amateur production of Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at Oxford Playhouse, a dark tale of revenge set against an industrial London landscape.

Presented by OXOPS, this amateur production of Sondheim's Sweeney Todd runs for six performances at Oxford Playhouse in January 2027, with evening shows and a Saturday matinee. The production strips the story back to its raw emotional core, staging the tale of classism, oppression and revenge against an industrial landscape with an ensemble cast. The show features Sondheim's score with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, book by Hugh Wheeler, and orchestrations by Jonathan Tunick.
