4-Day Shirt Making Workshop
About
A four-day intermediate workshop at FC Designer Workspace where participants cut and construct a classic shirt, learning industrial sewing and shirt-making techniques.
This four-day course from Fashion Capital UK teaches participants to make a classic shirt, covering cuffs, collar, yoke and sleeves using a provided basic pattern. Day one focuses on industrial sewing machine skills, lay planning and cutting, while days two to four cover construction techniques such as plackets, collar and stand, and yokes. Sessions run from 10am to 4pm each day and are taught by Louisa and Gintare, stitching instructors at the Fashion Technology Academy in Islington. Basic sewing skills are required, and participants should bring around two metres of woven fabric, preferably lightweight calico.
