London Early Onset Colorectal Cancer Research Symposium
About
A one-day symposium at the Francis Crick Institute exploring why early onset colorectal cancer is rising and how to improve its prevention, detection and treatment.
This one-day, in-person symposium brings together researchers, clinicians, early-career researchers and patient advocates to examine the growing incidence of early onset colorectal cancer (EOCRC). The programme covers the biology and mechanisms of EOCRC, risk factors and early detection, screening challenges, and interactions between the microbiome, immune system and environment. Highlights include an ECR Dragon's Den where early-career researchers pitch innovative research ideas to an expert panel, a PROSPECT session on inclusive recruitment to research, and a media-facing panel on accelerating progress through collaboration and data sharing. Selected oral presentations and posters will be showcased, awards presented for best talk, poster and pitch, and the day closes with informal drinks and networking.
