About

The Jeweller's Daughter: a family-friendly storytelling theatre show about a girl whose family left Zanzibar, preceded by a jewellery design craft workshop led by Natasha the Storyteller.

The Jeweller's Daughter is a theatre show telling the story of a girl whose family were forced to leave Zanzibar, an island in the Indian Ocean, and the welcoming community they then found. Based on a true story, it uses games, colour, costumes, music and memories to celebrate difference and encourage learning about others' experiences. Before each performance, Natasha the Storyteller leads a jewellery design craft workshop, and the audience joins in to help tell the story. The show deals with themes of forced migration, including displacement, racism, death and loss, in a way appropriate for those aged 6 and over.
