Public Embroidery Talk
About
An evening talk and viewing of the Seven Saxon Kings embroidery panels at All Saints Church, exploring Kingston's coronation heritage.
This evening event offers a viewing of the Seven Saxon Kings embroidery panels, six of which are currently displayed, alongside a talk on the history of the Saxon Kings crowned at Kingston and the creation of the panels. The talk covers the Saxon history of the area, the reigns and characters depicted, and the tradition of embroidery as a symbol of power. The panels are being created by award-winning embroiderer Jacky Puzey, with hand embroidery and beading by Beatrice Mayfield. A bar is available and attendance is free with limited spaces requiring pre-booked tickets.
