BJA Level 1 Coaching Course – Bristol

A two-day British Judo Association Level 1 coaching course at Yate Star Judo Club, covering coaching skills, technique, safety and judo rules.

This BJA Level 1 coaching course runs over two days at Yate Star Judo Club, with day one on 13 March 2027 and the assessment day on 14 March 2027, both starting at 09:00. It covers 'how to coach' skills, basic technical principles of ne-waza and tachi-waza, health and safety, and basic judo rules. Candidates must be at least 16, current BJA members holding a minimum 2nd Kyu grade, and must attend both days. Successful candidates receive the BJA Level 1 coaching award, allowing them to coach under supervision, and complete portfolio tasks within six months of assessment.
