Philharmonia: Manfred Honeck and Emanuel Ax

The Philharmonia Orchestra under Manfred Honeck performs Strauss, Mozart and Richard Strauss with pianist Emanuel Ax at De Montfort Hall.

The Philharmonia Orchestra, conducted by Manfred Honeck, opens with Johann Strauss II's sparkling overture to Die Fledermaus. Emanuel Ax then joins as soloist for Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 25, K. 503. The concert closes with Richard Strauss's Elektra Suite, arranged by Honeck and Ille, distilling the dark opera into half an hour of orchestral drama. The event is suitable for ages 7+.
