Dynamic Strings - Inside the Quartet
About
A three-hour creative play day for amateur string players exploring string quartet playing through contrasting repertoire.
A creative afternoon for string players exploring the intimacy and excitement of quartet playing. Using contrasting quartet repertoire, participants work on phrasing, balance, colour and communication, discovering when to lead and when to support, with opportunities to swap parts and hear the music from different perspectives. The session emphasises exploration rather than perfection and suits good amateur players and returning musicians; repertoire is provided in advance where possible, tea and cake are included, and attendees should bring a music stand.
