Manuela Caldi: Flare

I paint because I love to observe: nature, landscapes, old buildings, flares of light and water reflections, sudden flare of emotion. With these feelings I have approached both my work as an architect and my painting, pursuing an idea of the quality of simple living. For years, Manuela — an architect and painter from Bologna, Italy — has been exploring the sensations she receives from the earth, rocks, sand, and sea, creating textured canvases that communicate the pleasure of immersing oneself in the surrounding environment.
