About

A feature documentary on the history and near-disappearance of Iraq’s Jewish community is paired with the short film The Suitcase, followed by a Q&A with feature director David Kahtan.

The 2026 Israeli documentary The Long Journey Home (94 minutes) traces the history of Iraq’s Jewish community from ancient Babylon through the Farhud and the mass exodus of the 1950s. It is preceded by Laetitia Clareton’s 2024 Canadian short The Suitcase (4 minutes). The festival lists a Q&A with feature director David Kahtan. This composite programme is marked as a UK premiere.
