Case Notes: the clinic of perception
About
A spoken-word performance by poet and autism clinician John Biddulph blending poetry and electronic sound to explore neurodiversity, perception and identity.
John Biddulph performs a series of imagined clinical case notes as spoken word, threaded with subtle electronic sound, moving between the language of assessment and diagnosis and lived experience. The poems explore autism and neurodivergence, sensory difference, language and identity, questioning who decides what is 'typical' and what is lost when a life is reduced to observation. The work sits between poetry, theatre and experimental music, and each case notes poem is paired with a case study from a lived-experience perspective.
