Selected Works: Table Top Shakespeare

Forced Entertainment's two performers retell Shakespeare plays on a table-top using everyday objects, with a different pair of plays each night.

Two performers present condensed versions of Shakespeare's plays on a one-metre table-top, using bric-a-brac objects — a salt and pepper pot for the king and queen, a ruler for the prince — as stand-ins for the characters, told in ordinary everyday language. Each night pairs two plays: Coriolanus and Measure For Measure on Thursday, The Winter's Tale and A Midsummer Night's Dream on Friday, and Twelfth Night and Othello on Saturday. The show runs 90 minutes plus interval and is suitable for ages 14+.
