Darch Collective Make an Insect Family Session | Sesiwn i Deuluoedd

A drop-in family workshop with DARCH Collective where children and their guardians make insects from air dry clay while learning about decomposition.

DARCH Collective, the collaborative practice of artists Umulkhayr Mohamed and Radha Patel, invite young children and their parents, carers or guardians to drop in and make an insect of their choice, or invent a new one that lives underground, using air dry clay and other materials. The session connects to their audio story and sculptural installation 'Heaven in the Ground', exploring the role insects play in decomposition, nourishing the soil and keeping the world living and breathing. Adults must accompany children; the activity is messy, so visitors should wear clothes they don't mind getting dirty and bring a small container to take their insect home. Four timed slots run through the day and one ticket covers a family or group of four.
