An exhibition of new abstract paintings by South African artist Emalie Bingham, her first solo show with Everard Read London.

Everard Read London presents Devotion Myths*, Emalie Bingham's first solo exhibition with the gallery, showing new paintings by the South African artist who lives in Bristol. Bingham builds a personal visual alphabet of abstract signs from repetitive studies of significant objects, collage offcuts and incidental brushstrokes, layering and re-patterning recurring motifs. The resulting compositions invite imaginative, open-ended readings, touching on themes of framing, visibility, belonging, transition and perception.
