A solo performance by Alex Murray exploring mental health and masculinity through his failed Kilimanjaro charity climb, staged in the 1908 Cabaret.

Presented by Proud Watford for International Men's Day, Kilimanjaro & Me is a 20-minute solo monologue by Alex Murray about his attempt to climb Mount Kilimanjaro for a charity that collapsed, leaving him with a severe mental health crisis. The piece is performed in two voices: Alex as himself, and Alex as Mount Kilimanjaro — vast and oppressive yet, like the volcano itself, unstable and subject to eruption. It explores themes of male mental health, failure and the expectations placed on men.
