Discover Bucks Galleries

Five permanent galleries at Discover Bucks Museum exploring Buckinghamshire's geology, archaeology, people, art and wildlife from 200 million years ago to today.

The Discover Bucks Galleries are five permanent museum galleries covering the county's story from Jurassic seas to the present day. Discover Bucks Geology features fossils, Ice Age mammoths and hands-on exhibits, while Discover Bucks Archaeology displays a 3000-year-old Bronze Age sword and the largest hoard of Anglo-Saxon coins ever found. Further galleries explore local communities and costume, Bucks art including the Stowe statues of Saxon gods, and wildlife, with interactive activities such as measuring yourself against a Neanderthal throughout.
