The Nightrider

A New Year's Eve steam and diesel-hauled night train service on the Great Central Railway, ending with a midnight celebration at Leicester North.

Great Central Railway's Nightrider is a New Year's Eve evening train service top and tailed by steam and diesel locomotives, with four round trips departing from all stations through the night. Onboard refreshments are available in the Griddle and Refreshment Cars, with optional pre-booked pie or sausage and mash dinners on the first two services. The night culminates in a midnight countdown celebration at Leicester North to welcome in 2027.
