About

A festive heritage-train journey with Santa, Mrs Claus and the GCR elves, including children’s gifts and activity packs, seasonal treats and decorated stations.

The Santa Express operates on the Great Central Railway between 28 November and 24 December 2026. The train is decorated for Christmas and travels through Quorn & Woodhouse and Rothley, pausing on Swithland Viaduct and stopping at Leicester North for Santa’s grotto. Children meet Santa, receive a gift and activity pack, and have festive refreshments; adult guests receive a mince pie and Irish cream liqueur. Advance tickets select a dated departure from Loughborough Central; arrive at least 30 minutes before that departure.
