About
A family Halloween celebration of Scotland's traditional customs with dookin' for apples, guising practice and costumed historical characters at Stirling Castle.
This living history day explores how Halloween was celebrated in Scotland centuries past, with hands-on activities including dookin' for apples and a 'dancing scream'. Visitors in costume can practise jokes and poems for guising under the eye of a historic royal, while roaming characters such as the hedgewife and the provost share folklore and tales of old crimes and punishments. The event runs from 11am to 4pm and is included in the castle's admission price.
