About

A costumed audience with King Henry VIII in Athelhampton's Tudor Great Hall, recounting his reign with a lively Q&A.

Set in 1544, this performance sees King Henry VIII on Royal Progress halting at Athelhampton to grant his subjects an audience. Recently married to Catherine Parr and troubled by his painful leg, the King recounts his reign, his wives and his children, then invites the audience to petition or question him on any related subject. The show runs roughly 55 minutes, a 20-minute interval, then about 35 minutes followed by Q&A, seated first come first served in the Tudor Great Hall. Age guidance is 12+ for moderate swearing and adult themes.
