Is going to church good for your health?
About
The Gilbert Scott Lecture on Science and Faith 2026, given by the Revd Dr Gillian Straine on the science, theology and practice of Christian flourishing.
Liverpool Cathedral's Gilbert Scott Lecture on Science and Faith for 2026 asks whether going to church is good for your health, exploring the science, theology and practice of Christian flourishing. The speaker, the Revd Dr Gillian Straine, CEO of the Guild of Health and St Raphael, brings a background in physics and theology to consider what wellbeing and flourishing mean for people and communities of faith. The lecture takes place in the cathedral's Concert Room and lasts 90 minutes. The series began in 2019, commemorating Dr Sebastian Gilbert Scott, brother of the cathedral's architect Sir Giles Gilbert Scott.
