Dark Cornwall Presents: Lore of the Deep
About
Dark Cornwall curates an Easter exhibition at the National Lobster Hatchery exploring real sea creatures alongside imagined monsters, with guest speakers, storytelling and local artists' work.
Lore of the Deep is an exhibition created and curated by Dark Cornwall in support of The National Lobster Hatchery, running across the Easter holidays. It explores the convergence between real sea creatures and the monsters, beasts and mythical beings humans have imagined living alongside them for centuries. Guest speakers and storytelling are sprinkled throughout the holidays to bring the experience to life. Local artists of all ages were invited to submit artwork reimagining rockpool creatures such as blennies, anemones, jellyfish and nudibranchs as beasts and mythical beings, with selected work exhibited alongside Dark Cornwall's own creatures.
