About
A calmer, quieter museum hour with reduced sound and sensory supports for visitors who benefit from a less busy environment.
The December relaxed session offers a quieter visit for children, families and carers, including neurodivergent visitors and people with sensory sensitivities. Lighting is adjusted, interactives and audio are reduced or switched off, quiet spaces are available, and staff can provide sensory backpacks and ear defenders. The museum closes to general visitors for the first hour; attendees may stay after sound is switched back on at 11:00. Admission tickets are bought at reception and provide 12 months of museum and gallery visits.
