Relaxed Afternoons: National Museum of Rural Life
About
A monthly calmer museum visit reduces or switches off gallery audiovisual sound and offers staff support, sensory resources and a quiet space for visitors with sensory needs.
The open session supports visitors who prefer a calmer environment, including neurodivergent visitors, people living with dementia, people with mental-health needs, and their families, friends and carers. Gallery sound is reduced from 14:30 to 17:00; visitors may arrive or leave at any time. A quiet room is available on the ground floor, and the session includes the museum and farm. The current published rule is the last Tuesday of each month; only dates through 30 March 2027 are listed here.
