Faith, Hope and Charity
About
Alexander Zeldin's play about a community hall under threat, where volunteers and newcomers find connection through cooking and choir, runs at the Almeida Theatre.
Alexander Zeldin's Faith, Hope and Charity is set in a community hall where Hazel volunteers to cook for those in need, and choir practice offers new beginnings for people including a man fresh out of prison, a mother and son, and a woman reunited with her daughter from Sudan. As the hall comes under threat, the community the characters have built is put at risk. The production is part of The Inequalities trilogy of Zeldin plays about work, home and community, and is a co-production with A Zeldin Company in association with Internationaal Theater Amsterdam, the RSC and others. Evening performances run Mondays to Saturdays at 7.30pm, with access performances and a free performance for under-25s on 6 May.
