Santa Specials

A festive steam-train ride from Rowsley South, with onboard entertainers, Santa and helpers visiting passengers at their seats, gifts and refreshments for children, and wine and mince pies for adults.

Santa Specials run from Rowsley South on nine December dates: 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 22, 23 and 24 December. Departures are at 10:30, 12:20, 14:10 and 16:00, except there is no 16:00 departure on 24 December. The return journey lasts approximately 1 hour 10 minutes; no exact end time is published. Onboard entertainers perform during the journey, while Santa and railway helpers visit passengers at their seats. Children receive an age-suitable gift, drink and snack; adults receive a glass of wine and mince pie. Tickets are sold by table or compartment, not individual seat. The operator permits up to two children aged 0–18 months on an adult lap in addition to booked seats. Wheelchair access is restricted to the accessible space in Coach F and must be arranged with the operator.
