Rangers at Rainton Meadows

A practical conservation session for young volunteers aged 11–18, creating winter habitat at Rainton Meadows.

Young volunteers aged 11–18 will work on winter habitat for invertebrates, amphibians and small mammals in a wooded area at Rainton Meadows. The group will record existing wildlife, refresh bug hotels, create hedgehog hides and extend a dead hedge, learning to use tools safely. Dress for the weather in sturdy footwear and waterproof clothing that can get dirty. Some work areas are not easily accessible; contact the organizer to discuss adjustments. The published session runs 10:00–12:00 on Sunday 1 November.
