Mexican Street Food
About
Make corn tortillas, chipotle chicken and three salsas, then assemble and share a Mexican-inspired meal.
Prepare chipotle chicken, guacamole, pico de gallo and roasted-corn salsa, then assemble and share a tortilla-based meal. Ordinary adult sessions include working masa harina dough and pressing corn tortillas. Adult sessions are for ages 15 and over; 15–17-year-olds must attend with a paying adult. Selected family sessions (2026-12-30) are billed as Kids learn for free: Mexican Street Food, with one adult and one child cooking together. The family curriculum covers chicken marinating, charring and poaching and the three salsas; tortilla composition and preparation are unclear because its method and menu differ, so no specific tortilla-making claim is made for family sessions. Children must be above age 8 and able to work at the 90cm kitchen top without a stool, with one child per adult. A family booking costs £75 for the adult-and-child bundle. Ingredients, equipment and aprons are supplied; the booked duration includes demonstrations, cooking and time to eat. Only participating guests can attend. At Oxford Street arrive 10–15 minutes before class; Sunday classes outside John Lewis hours use the Hollies Street entrance.
