About

An exhibition at Broadway Museum presenting archaeological finds from the Badsey Brook flood alleviation dig, tracing 8,000 years of local history from Mesolithic hunter-gatherers to Saxon settlers.

This exhibition displays artefacts uncovered in 2016 during Environment Agency flood alleviation excavations along Badsey Brook in Broadway. Organised chronologically, it explores Mesolithic and Neolithic flint tools, a decorated Beaker pot and Bronze Age burials, Iron Age roundhouses and field systems, a Roman farmstead, and rare Saxon settlement remains including loomweights. The displays trace the area's transformation from a mobile hunter-gatherer landscape to settled farming community.
