Mughal Miniature Workshop
About
A one-day workshop with Samantha Buckley teaching participants to draw, trace and paint a Mughal flower design using traditional materials.
This immersive one-day workshop, led by Samantha Buckley as part of the Cambridge Festival of Islamic Arts, introduces the fine art of Mughal miniature painting. Participants learn to draw a floral design, trace it onto wasli paper — the classical Indian painting surface — and paint it using traditional pigments and the delicate one-hair Indian squirrel brush. The session runs six hours, is open to all regardless of faith, and is recommended for ages 15 and over. It is supported by The School of Calligraphy and Ornamentation (SOCO), an art school based in Fujairah, UAE.
