Wikipedia editing Workshop

A beginner-friendly session introduces Wikipedia editing, then gives participants time to research and improve articles, including entries about women profiled in Hackney history publications. Bring a laptop if possible; previous attendees can join a separate practice group.

The workshop begins with an hour of training on Wikipedia and its role as a volunteer-written encyclopedia, followed by hands-on editing, questions and guided practice. Participants may choose their own subject; the organisers particularly welcome work on women featured in Women from Hackney’s History, volumes 1 and 2.
