About
A 90-minute guided walking tour from Waterloo Station exploring the quirky history of Britain's public toilets.
This family-friendly guided tour uses the humble toilet as a lens on history, anthropology, art, architecture and humour, tracing Britain's public conveniences from Roman latrines to the future of flushing. Along the way the guide answers questions such as how the Romans wiped, whether Thomas Crapper really existed and why we say 'loo'. The tour lasts an hour and a half and meets at the Waterloo Station toilets opposite platform 19, where the guide can be spotted holding a toilet plunger.
