About
Tommaso Zerbi examines how church-building and the medieval past shaped religious and imperial relations in Fascist Italy.
The seminar follows missionary architecture from the Horn of Africa to the Mediterranean and considers how the Italian state and Catholic Church negotiated empire, religion and nationhood through architectural and medieval references. The event is hybrid, with an in-person session in IHR room N203 at Senate House and an online option.
