Gianni Schicchi

Mid Wales Opera performs Puccini's one-act comedy Gianni Schicchi in English, followed by a second half of popular Italian music.

Mid Wales Opera presents Puccini's one-act comic opera Gianni Schicchi, sung in English, in which the scheming relatives of the dead Buoso Donati discover they have been disinherited and turn to the wily Gianni Schicchi for help. The fast-moving comedy features the celebrated aria "O mio babbino caro". The second half is a feast of popular Italian music from the company's 15-strong ensemble of singers and musicians. A free but ticketed touch tour at 6.30pm offers audio-described, hands-on access to the production's props, costumes and set.
