Guided Estate Walks
About
Join a Chatsworth guide for a two-hour walk through the estate landscape, its parkland and villages, with views and stories about how the landscape developed.
The guided walks are led by experienced Chatsworth guides, with a maximum group size of 20. On 20 October the four-mile Calton Lees via River route visits Queen Mary’s Bower, Paine’s Mill, Calton Lees and Edensor Village, with views of work by Lancelot “Capability” Brown and his assistant Michael Milliken. On 27 October the Lakes Loop is the published route. Meet at the Game Larder beside the car park at 9:50am. The routes use estate paths and minor roads; sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended, and dogs must be kept on leads.
