About

A mini-exhibition tells how Gunner Robert Watmore, the only serving military personnel killed in Whitby during the Second World War, was remembered locally.

Whitby Museum’s medals curator traces the story of Robert Watmore and efforts to restore the memory of his sacrifice. The mini-exhibition runs 28 February–29 November 2026; normal museum admission applies.
