Fantastic Archives and where to find them…
About
An exhibition at Whitby Museum showcasing gems from its library and archives, with family interactive activities, running until December 2026.
Whitby Museum's exhibition highlights treasures from its library and archives, part of a Heritage Lottery-funded project to open these collections to the public. Displays include the 'Repair Shop' Captain Cook Voyage book, and family interactive activities invite children to try archive and library roles such as cleaning books, filling in card index cards and playing 'People Pairs'. Pop-up archives and interaction sessions are planned during the run, and visitors can ask to see the Captain Cook book in the library. The exhibition may close on some days due to events in the Normanby Room.
