LIAF 2026: JINSEI – FEATURE FILM

Ryuya Suzuki’s hand-made animated feature follows one man through shifting identities and realities.

An unnamed protagonist moves from bullied schoolboy to would-be J-pop idol, outcast, leader and oracle, each chapter changing his name and circumstances. Suzuki wrote, directed, animated, edited and scored this 93-minute debut, which shifts between coming-of-age story, satire, revenge drama and speculative fiction.
