LIAF 2026: The Orbit of Minor Satellites – FEATURE FILM + uk premiere (15)

Chris Sullivan’s UK-premiere feature blends animation and live action in a story of therapy, memory and imagined space.

As psychiatrist Derwood Richards prepares to part from his long-term patient Rosemary Hamm, their relationship opens onto a handmade science-fiction world of lost astronauts, Cold War echoes and a Soviet-American station beyond Saturn. The film moves between hand-drawn animation, live action and tactile imagery to consider grief, loneliness and the stories people build around difficult realities.
