Taxi Tales (Ensemble)
About
Mark Smith's improv show Taxi Tales, set in the back of a taxi over a single night, plays at MAC Birmingham as part of the Birmingham Improv Festival.
Inspired by Raymond Carver's short stories, later adapted into Robert Altman's film 'Short Cuts', Taxi Tales is a playful exploration of humanity through simple interactions. Set in the back of a taxi, the story unfolds over a single night, revealing the personal struggles and frustrations of everyday life for both the driver and their passengers. The show is described as voyeuristic, funny and very human, and forms part of the Birmingham Improv Festival 2026, with a festival pass available giving access to every show across four days.
