About

A day conference and book launch marking 350 years since Lady Anne Clifford’s death. The programme examines Lady Anne’s life and letters alongside Elizabeth Boyle, Alice Thornton and Bess of Hardwick.

The YAHS Record Series volume presents previously unedited letters by and about Lady Anne Clifford, together with the memoir of her secretary George Sedgewick. The conference launches the volume and includes talks on Lady Anne, her cousin once removed Elizabeth Boyle, Alice Thornton and Bess of Hardwick. Registration begins at 09:30; the welcome and talks begin at 10:00. The YAHS event page lists the day through 17:00, while the programme PDF ends at 16:45. Copies of the book are available for purchase.
