Skipton Camerata: Sanctuary

Skipton Camerata performs Herschel’s Symphony No. 8, Bach’s Christ lag in Todesbanden and Mozart’s Symphony No. 40 in a programme exploring sanctuary.

The concert connects musical ideas of refuge, rest and belonging through works by William Herschel, J.S. Bach and Mozart. The programme links Herschel’s interest in astronomy with a sense of perspective, Bach’s cantata with spiritual comfort, and Mozart’s symphony with inward searching.
